“The apostles were highly regarded as they performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people that met together in Solomon’s Colonnade.” (Acts 5:12-13)
Acts chapter 5 describes the early dedication of the people of the church, as well as those who attempt to deceive. Dedicated Christ followers were willing to give all they had to help and support each other. “The apostles were highly regarded as they performed many miraculous signs and wonders among the people that met together in Solomon’s Colonnade.” (Acts 5:12-13) I pray I hear and understand God’s word in the early church as it applied to their faith and I believe still applies to today as Acts 5:14-16:
“Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed.”
Did you catch that? ALL of them were healed. God moves where He intends to move and great things happen. He raises up in times of chaos those chosen to be “highly regarded” for His good and for His purposes. Through the Holy Spirit Peter experienced elevation in status by the people, yet he remained humble and gave God all the glory. May you experience His healing touch today, may you find His great joy in giving to others and persevering through trials, and may you stay humble as He moves through you to reach another.
