Exploring New Options
Exploring new options to create better health is very exciting and fun. Be adventurous, and use your imagination to picture tasty ways that please the palate, yet aren’t hard on the body.
I love all the tea and spice options available today. You can create delicious fall time teas, soothing herbal teas, or energy enhancing green and black teas with lower caffeine and a good amount of antioxidants.
It beats the phosphorous and calcium depleting sodas the country is so enamored with! Don’t worry the Israelite’s didn’t get it either, they were provided for, yet they continued to complain. Therefore, they wandered in the wilderness 40 years. We are not that hard hearted, are we? We recognize the good gifts the Father in Heaven provides and give thanks!
1 Corinthians 10:3-4
“They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.”
Try these ideas for a healthier option:
Brew 1 blueberry green tea bag as directed. Add 1/4 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen) Pour over 12 oz of ice—add water to fill if necessary. You can do this with pomegranate tea (fresh peaches), lavender (pears), chamomile (kiwi)….you pick, add iced tea never tasted so fresh!
The steavia in some tea bag blends is plenty to sweeten and flavor the tea. If you need more sweetener just add a tsp of honey while the tea is still in the warm phase.
Since Fall is very near it is also very enjoyable to make some delicious lattes! One of my favorite teas is Vanilla Spice Energy in the morning……then a soothing Caramel Bedtime tea in the evening. Try this, I hope you won’t be disappointed.
You’ll need a large 16 oz mug. Brew 1 tea bag of Vanilla Spice or Soothing Bedtime tea in 8 oz of hot water according to package directions.
Cover and let simmer (while you prepare your milk)
Pour 8 oz of your favorite non-dairy milk in a microwave safe dish and heat 1 minute until hot—- I love unsweetened vanilla almond milk for this. You can use whatever you like.
Remove tea bag from brewed tea and add 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice. Add this to heated milk and pulse in Nutri-bulltet or blender about 10-15 seconds. Pour back into your mug and enjoy the sweet, warm, frothiness!
***The stevia in these blends make this plenty sweet for me (I’m trying to give up sugar…..again)****but you may find this not sweet enough, so you may want to add 1 tsp honey or maple syrup to the warm milk for added sweetness.
Day 17 we’ll cover salt free spice blends!
Continue to make better choices and do the best you can. We are on a journey together, not to live forever here but to be the best we can be while we are here. Try these easy to prepare meals for a healthy switch.
