Go the extra mile butternut squash soup is a reminder to the faithful. As the seed matures into a plant extending 15 feet and bearing up to 10-20 squash, in just over 100 days; we too can extend the planted word to a hurting world.
Many people today may not know Jesus is the one who coins the extra mile phrase. Although, His words show lasting impact. In the sermon on the mount, He says:
“If anyone forces you to go a mile, go with
them two miles.”
The context of this passage in Mathew 5:38-42 , sits beside not resisting evil people, and turning the other cheek. Roman soldiers frequently forced people to carry their gear a mile. Therefore, Jesus is saying make it two.
Submissive, putting yourself out there faith will turn heads when traveling that extra mile.
Just like butternut squash’s ability to grow from a tiny seed to 15 feet in just over 100 days; we too, can water the seed of God’s word into acts of amazing mercy.
